A bugs life...

Over at Lexis Creations, there's a new challenge

It's a bugs life

Our sponsor is Letraset

The amount of bugs that landed on me yesterday at the local wildlife park I should have just taken a photo of myself as my DT creation lol. Instead I made a card with a acetate front which is a first for me. My hubby (without been asked) said he really liked this card, so that made my day :-)

I've used some digi bug images designed by Lexi that you can find at Fairy dust crafts and Stitchy bear stamps. They are Baby Bee, Baby dragonfly, Baby ladybug and Baby flying ant, all of these have been coloured in with Promarkers

Sorry for the reflections on the acetate, i took so many photos and every one of them had a shadow across the head on shot.

Here's a close up of the flying bugs. I made a sun to go in the corner, added some ink to the edge and a bit of glitter.

I used a Marraine Creatable die to make the flower, the sentiment is made by Forever friends. The mushrooms are stickers that I found in my stash.

I cut the grass myself, but the fence is a MS die. I've added some cute little buttons of bugs. I have a slight accident with them though!! As I wanted them to lie flat, I have cut the back off, lets just say my finger got in the way. No lasting damage though and I managed to make them lie flat in the end.

You can check out the other DT 'bug' creations here.

I coloured the image in with my new Tria markers, I'm still getting used to them, but I love the extra thin nib.

I added some green ribbon and a cute car charm from Meiflower crafts. The paper is from my stash and the sentiment from Craftwork cards. I cut some stars out using my Slice machine and added a star gem and some dot of dark blue stickles glitter.

Wedding card for my MIL

Just a quick post from me as I'm packing ready to go 'up north' tonight ready for my MILs wedding tomorrow. I'm so excited for her. I just want to share with you the wedding card I've made for them. I cheated a little as I used a die cut image from Lili of the valley. I love this image, but wasn't sure how often I'd use the stamp form of it so went for the die cut insead. The sentiment is a stamp though (Lili of the valley)

Owl Fathers Day Card

This card is for my Dad for Fathers day. He loves Owls so I thought my new Owl punch from Stampin up would be perfect to use on his card.

I made it one evening in the terrible light in our living room In daylight the following day it looked greener than I had first thought. I would have used a different backing paper if I was making it again, not that I ever make the same card twice. I'm sure he'll like it though.

I used a Stampin up Owl punch, papers from my stash (I bought the Owl paper about 18 months go from a NEC craft show and finally found a use for it..lol). The Owl charm is from a Trimmie friend (thanks Mia). I've added some brown spotty ribbon from my stash and some gems my Mum gave me last weekend (thanks Mum). The Dad letter are rub ons and I've stamped 'happy fathers day' on the die cut heart.

Wedding card...

It's coming up to peak wedding season again. My MIL is getting married in a couple of weeks time which will be our first wedding of the year. I'm still stuggling her wedding card though, it's a civil service and everything including the colour scheme is top secret so I need to do a bit more thinking what to make before I get started.

For my DT card at this weeks wedding challenge over at CRAFT (challenge 105) I made a traditional wedding card using a church image from our sponsor for this challenge Digi Doodle Shop

Here's my card:

Recipe

Digi image coloured in with Promarkers and Sakura pens. Cream and gold paper from Craftwork cards. I've used some lace and heart pearls from my stash to decorate it and finished it off with a Sentiment.
